Tips for family roadĀ trips
Bored kids and long road trips can make a family road trip to Branson, or anywhere else, a challenging start to your family vacation. Here are some great travel tips to help make that car trip a pleasant experience.
-
Don't Make it a Race: Allow enough time for rest stops and take small side trips. A couple of hours of car time and then a break is a very good pattern for young children.
-
Pack for Self Entertainment: A special package for each child containing crayons, books, toys, activity sets, batteries and handheld games. Adding some new toys will also help along the way.
- Small board-games with the magnetic pieces are good: These are easy to play with and there won't be any discussion about a piece bouncing onto another square.
For games that are both entertaining and educational we recommend.
- Bring Snacks: Avoid the high energy sugary snacks when you can. When traveling you will find that a well packed snack box will save you mioney and help keep the kids occupied.
- Take Advantage of the Playrooms: Burger King and McDonalds have great playrooms for the kids burn off energy while you take a break from the road and routine yourself.
- Turn Rest Stops into Family Picnics: Making this a part of the routine is a great way to save some money and help the kids to burn off some energy.
- Training Potties: Depending upon the age of your child this might come in handy for a travel emergency.. it's worth bringing a training pottie, if your child has need-to-go-NOW emergencies.
